FIELD: beekeeping; veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science and beekeeping, particularly to disinfection of surface covers of live honey bees and laying queens in transfer cages. Disclosed is a method for controlling contamination of the body of living honey bees and queen bees in a transfer cage with disinfection of living honey bees and queen bees, which consists in obtaining washing from the body surface of honey bees and queen bee in a transfer cage with sterile distilled water in volume of 20-25 ml in a cellophane bag with subsequent seeding on solid nutrient media and PCR analysis. For disinfection, a cage with a queen bee and bees are placed for 15 minutes in glass containing 200-250 ml of 3% aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide at a temperature of +15…+25 °C, moving the cell in this solution in order to remove air bubbles formed on bee hairs. Then the cage with bees and the queen is washed in running water at room temperature for 1 minute, then placed in 200-250 ml of 0.005% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution for 15 minutes at a temperature of +15…+25 °C. Amount of liquid should be such that the cell with the queen bee and bees is completely immersed in the disinfectant solution. Then the cage with bees and queen bee is washed for 1 min under running water at 20±2 °C, in order to obtain flushing, they are placed in a cellophane bag with sterile distilled water in volume of 20-25 ml for 1 min, shaking and turning. After that, the cage with bees and laying queen bee is taken out of the bag with water and dried on filter paper at room temperature until normal physiological functions of bees and laying queen bees return, and the wash-off is sown on solid nutrient media and PCR analysis is performed for viral diseases of bees. Results of the study are recorded in 48 hours, and in case of negative results, the cage with bees and the queen bee is sent to the apiary.
EFFECT: invention provides disinfection of surface of live honey bees and queen bees in transfer cages, control of contamination of surface of live honey bees and expansion of arsenal of means and methods for control of contamination of surface of body of live honey bees and queen bees in transfer cage.
