FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine and beekeeping and can be used in research and veterinary laboratories, as well as in production conditions in apiaries of all forms of ownership. The method for immobilization of Apis mellifera honey bees includes the introduction into suspended animation and withdrawal from it, as well as the selection of honey bee individuals for research and the anesthesia of insects. As a narcotic substance, water with a temperature of 0°… + 4°C is used, in which honey bees are placed in a polyethylene or cellophane bag until they are completely immobilized. The revealed permissible period of introduction into suspended animation of summer bees is 40-50 hours, wintering bees 60-75 hours. The bees are brought out of suspended animation by placing them in temperature conditions of +14… +34°C.
EFFECT: expanding the arsenal of methods for immobilizing bees by introducing them into suspended animation and withdrawing them from it.
