SUBSTANCE: invention relates to balanced positional games, where chess is used as game elements on a balancing game surface. Balanced chess game device consists of a game board (GB) with an upper surface with a game field (GF) for game figures (GF), having a sliding friction coefficient (SFC) on the game field, exceeding tangent of limiting inclination angle (IA) of game board relative to horizontal plane (HP), with external field on upper surface of game board, and with lower surface (LS); a support unit (SU), the upper spherical part of which is in contact with the game board lower surface, and the lower part (LP) has a support plane; devices for measuring game board inclination angle; means of limiting game board inclination angle; ratio of the radius R_SP of the upper spherical part of the support unit to the maximum width B of the game board is in the range of R_SP/B=0.08–0.20; game board lower surface is flat or includes spherical surface coaxial with upper spherical part of support unit; game board lower surface sliding friction coefficient relative to spherical part of support unit exceeds 0.14; device has installed on game board external field before game 2–8 additional figures (AF) for each player, different from game figures; ratio of weight of all game figures and additional figures to weight of game board=0.50–1.25. Rules of the game of chess on the described device include: arrangement of the game figures with the horizontal position of the game board; setting of maximum game board inclination angle relative to horizontal plane, conducting a game according to the rules of classical chess, when balancing the game board, while when making the game figures move with the game board inclination, the player who made the move restores the horizontal plane of the game board by moving the additional figures along the external field; counting the number of additional figures movements; the player who has put checkmate is considered to be the winner; if the result of the game is a draw or a stampede, the player who has made less additional figures movements on the external field of the game board is considered to be the winner.
