SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, therapy and diagnostics, and can be used in artificial hypothermia. Central body temperature is recorded, with the help of a thermal imager, the body surface temperature distribution is recorded, difference in central body temperature and temperature of a peripheral body surface area determined from a thermogram as the warmest of the exposed and accessible for monitoring body areas. Heat exchange intensity of cooling means is adjusted so that said temperature difference does not exceed 1.5 °C.

EFFECT: method reduces the risk of developing undesirable consequences of hypothermia, particularly arrhythmia, coagulation disorders, infectious complications due to the absence of compensatory reactions of the body in the form of peripheral vasospasm or muscular tremors.
