SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and represents a version of beta-carotene-15,15'-oxygenase, where the amino acid corresponding to position 43 relative to the N-terminal of the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, alanine; amino acid corresponding to position 58 relative to the N-terminal of the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, leucine; and an amino acid corresponding to position 74 relative to the N-terminal of the amino acid sequence SEQ ID NO: 1, isoleucine, each replaced with another amino acid, where the variant has beta-carotene-15,15'-oxygenase activity, as well as a microorganism containing a polynucleotide coding the beta-carotene-15,15'-oxygenase variant.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a retinoid by culturing such a microorganism with a high degree of efficiency.
