FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gland seals for shafts with fluoroplastic rings, operating in units of structures for various purposes, in hydraulic and pneumatic systems of power engineering in the range of cryogenic temperatures. Gland seal is installed in the housing on the sealed rod and consists of packing in the form of alternating sealing fluoroplastic rings and intermediate spring rings from wire of round section, installed with compression into the housing. Gland is compressed by a preliminary axial force by means of a pressure flange until the spring rings are partially pressed into the side surfaces of the fluoroplastic rings, as a result of which cylindrical surfaces of sealing fluoroplastic rings are pressed to the housing and to the rod.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain the required degree of tightness of the sealing device during operation in the cryogenic temperature zone.
