FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorption technologies for extracting heavy metals from surface waste water and can be used to clean territories and water bodies contaminated with heavy metals in urban areas. Sorbent for treating waste water from heavy metals includes buckwheat husks, walnut shells, hemp husks and wastes from water treatment stations, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: buckwheat husks granules – 25-27; walnut shell – 23-25; hemp husks – 23-25; water treatment plant wastes – the rest. Cylindrical granules with a smooth surface of 5.0-5.3 mm in length and 6.0-6.3 mm in diameter are made from buckwheat husks. Walnut shell is crushed to particle size of 4-6 mm and subjected to carbonization for 14-16 minutes at temperature of 295-300 °C. Hemp husks are used in the form of seed coatings. Wastes of water treatment stations are burnt at temperature of 600 °C for 5 hours.
EFFECT: higher degree of purification and wider range of extracted metals.
