FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aromatic ring reduction catalyst which can be used in organic synthesis in a flow reactor. Disclosed is a catalyst for hydrogenation of benzene and its homologues in form of nanostructured nickel particles immobilized on a substrate. Substrate used is a mixture obtained after baking and grinding a paste of magnesium oxide and boric acid, taken in molar ratio of oxide : acid equal to 4:1. Nickel nanoparticles are deposited by impregnating a substrate while boiling in a solution of nickel chloride hexahydrate, with a weight ratio of substrate : nickel chloride hexahydrate equal to 1:2.4, with subsequent reduction of adsorbed nickel chloride at temperature 70-80 °C for 1 hour. Reduction is carried out with mixture of 0.025 wt.% aqueous solution of sodium borohydride and hydrazine monohydrate, taken in molar ratio of 4:3.
EFFECT: obtaining an efficient hydrogenation catalyst with increased specific output.
