FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to artificial pollination of plants, namely to a mechanical method of collecting sunflower pollen and a device for collecting pollen. Method of collecting pollen for artificial pollination of sunflower using a pollen collection device containing a dome-shaped pollen collector, placed on agricultural equipment, envisages sowing of lines of paternal forms of sunflower hybrid, collection of pollen at 8-10 o'clock in the morning during blooming of paternal lines of sunflower. Sowing of lines of paternal forms of sunflower hybrid can be carried out both separately from lines of maternal forms of sunflower hybrid, and jointly. Sowing of lines of paternal forms of sunflower hybrid is carried out in rows with row spacing of 70 cm and distance between plants in row is 35 cm or 70 cm. Wheeled or tracked vehicles are used as agricultural machinery. Pollen collecting device for artificial pollination of sunflower comprises at least one dome-shaped pollen collector with a cutout in the centre extending from the lower part on opposite sides of the housing, sieve, which is fixed on the inner part of the pollen intake housing or along the perimeter of the cutouts, or along the perimeter of the cutouts and the perimeter of the lower edge of the dome, a vacuum system including a vacuum pump, and a container for collecting pollen, and is configured to be attached to agricultural equipment. Number of pollen collectors ranges from 1 to 16 pieces. Device provides for adjustment of the distance between pollen collectors and the height of the pollen collector. Pollen collector sieve has a mesh size of not more than 1 mm.
EFFECT: proposed method of collecting pollen for artificial pollination of sunflower using a pollen collecting device containing a dome-shaped pollen collector, placed on agricultural equipment, provides an increase in the efficiency of collecting sunflower pollen, increased volume and quality of sunflower harvest, automation of pollen collection process and increased automation of artificial pollination process as a whole.
