FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to organic chemistry, specifically to the technology of producing xanthogenates, which are widely used as flotation reagents-collectors, for example, during flotation extraction of non-ferrous and rare metals at mining and processing plants and during processing of depleted ores. Method of producing alkylxanthogenates of alkali metals is carried out by reacting an alkali, alcohol and carbon disulphide in a solvent medium in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst at temperature of 35-37 °C and is characterized by that the catalyst used is a compound with polyethylene oxide fragments, the reaction is carried out in an aqueous medium, and the molar ratio of the reactants is alkali : alcohol : water : carbon disulphide : catalyst is 1 : (1.0-2.0) : (4.5-12.0) : 1 : (0.1-0.2).
EFFECT: high output of the end product and selectivity of the reaction.
