FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of joining homogeneous and dissimilar metals by laser welding. Welding is performed in mode of continuous or quasi-continuous generation of radiation by deflected laser beam with variable amplitude of angular deflection and at least at one deflection frequency. Amplitude of laser beam oscillations is reduced in middle area of weld pool melt under condition of increase of absorbed power of laser irradiation in it relative to its periphery on side of heat-affected zone on face side of weld seam. Beam is deflected in a plane transverse to the direction of the seam or additionally in a longitudinal plane. Sheets are butt-welded along the slit gap or overlapped sheets or the angular and T-joints are welded, including with the use of filler material.
EFFECT: method ensures uniform penetration of the weld pool during formation of a steam-gas plasma channel along the depth of the uniform penetration, reduced porosity in the welded joint.
