FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical power engineering, namely to high-temperature fuel cells with molten carbonate electrolyte, and can be used for making cathode plates from nickel metal powder by strip casting. Cathode plate is formed in one layer from nickel metal powder by strip casting using an organic solvent, as well as a plasticiser and a binder, wherein the slurry mass is prepared from a composition of powders of nickel metal fractions of 0.8-3 mcm, 20-40 mcm, 40-63 mcm in a weight ratio of 1:3.75:1.25, respectively.

EFFECT: method enables to form a single-layer bimodal structure of the porous space of the cathode, which does not require high-temperature annealing ex-situ in an inert atmosphere, thereby providing low cathode polarization.
