SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a method for introducing a genomic modification, which increases pod cracking tolerance in a B. napus plant, comprising introducing a targeted deletion into the genome of a B. napus plant cell using a CRISPR-associated nuclease, a first guide RNA and a second guide RNA, where the targeted deletion comprises cutting an endogenous genomic sequence of the INDEHISCENT (BnIND) gene in a B. napus plant cell, and obtaining a modified B. napus plant from a modified cell of a B. napus plant, as well as to a modified B. napus plant.
EFFECT: invention provides improved pod cracking tolerance in Brassica genus plants.
