SUBSTANCE: apparatus for generating an aerosol comprises a housing with an opening for introducing an article for generating an aerosol, and a guide located separately from the opening; air intake located at a distance from the guide; and a cover configured to move along the guide between the first and second positions for opening or closing the opening, wherein the opening is open when the cover is in a first position and closed when the cover is in a second position, wherein the air intake is connected to an air flow path through which air enters the aerosol generating device, wherein said guide represents a ledge made on housing surface while cover comprises groove engaging said ledge.
EFFECT: higher reliability and reduced aerosol losses.
