FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing nanoporous barium titanate ceramics and can be used in chemical industry for filtering materials and catalyst carriers, in electronics and for making nanocomposites for investigating substances in a nanosized state. Method of producing barium titanate nanoporous ceramics involves mixing nanoparticles of barium titanate and a binding component, followed by pressing the workpieces and sintering. Particles of barium titanate with an average particle size of 50 nm are used, and the binder is aqueous 50% suspension of polystyrene nanospheres with size of 100 nm in terms of polystyrene content in mixture of 5 vol.%. Billets are pressed at 500 kg/cm2, after which they are dried for a day at room temperature and sintered at temperature of 1,000 °C for 2 hours.
EFFECT: ceramic has porosity of 20%, with average pore size of 150 nm and simultaneously has spontaneous polarization.
