SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cutting adapter configured to perform cutting and grooving along the feed direction along the Y axis. Assembled cutting tool, having a longitudinal axis defining the up and down directions, includes a cutting adapter in the direction along the Y axis, which is installed on the holder. Cutting adapter has a socket for the cutting plate, which includes the main clamp designed with the possibility to support the cutting plate. Holder has a holder head section and a shank section. Holder head section has an adapter seat in which the cutting adapter is installed. If the shape of the cross-section of the shank of the holder is square or rectangular, the frontmost cutting edge is located directly above the frontmost surface of the shank of the holder, and if the shape of the cross section of the shank of the holder is rounded, the axis of the shank of the holder extends along the centre to the most front cutting edge.
