FIELD: material processing.
SUBSTANCE: cutting tool holder contains a shank and a head connected to the shank. The holder head contains a socket for an insert or a pocket for a cutter. A reinforcing section connecting the side surface of the shank and the head is located adjacently to at least a section of the side surface of the shank.
EFFECT: improvement of stability, and reduction in vibration during the cutting process are achieved due to the direction of a cutting force mainly along a longitudinal part of a detachable cutter.
