SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of preparing pollen grains for scanning electron microscopy, which comprises fixing fresh pollen grains in 2.5% formaldehyde, filtering and washing pollen grains; then a dehydration step is carried out by successive washing with 70%, 90% and 96% ethanol and final dehydration of the samples with hexamethyldisilazane is carried out.
EFFECT: invention provides an image of the ultrastructure of pollen grains with a pronounced exine and aperture structure.
