FIELD: sealing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for sealing two concentric surfaces and can be applied in the field of mechanical engineering; in particular, for sealing pistons, plungers, and rods of volumetric machines, such as pumps, and rotating shafts. Sealing apparatus comprises a cylinder, a rod, and at least two disks equipped with sealing elements. One disk is fixed, and the other is configured to move axially between two stops, forming an inter-disk chamber. An elastic element is placed in the inter-disk chamber between the disks so as to be able to interact with the movable disk and a stop. The stop of the movable disk on the side of the working cavity is made in the form of a fixed unloading disk. A recess and a matching protrusion located in said recess are made on the unloading and movable disk, wherein a constant-pressure chamber communicating with a liquid source is formed between the unloading and movable disks. The inter-disk chamber and the constant-pressure chamber are communicating with the liquid source via a check valve and directly, respectively. A through longitudinal channel with the check valve placed therein can be made in the fixed disk.
EFFECT: possibility of reducing the contact pressure on the sealing elements by a multiple of the number of disks regardless of the pressure in the working cavity.
