FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used in diagnostics of severity of congenital clubfoot in children. An X-ray examination is performed in a lateral projection with applying an X-ray contrast substance on the skin along the axis of the shin and calcaneal bone, followed by measuring the angle between the axis of the shin and the axis of the calcaneal bone. Depending on the angle, three degrees of deformation are identified: 1st degree – up to angle of 90 degrees, 2nd degree – from 91 to 110 degrees, 3rd degree – from 111 degrees and more.
EFFECT: method enables selecting the optimal surgical approach by increasing the accuracy of determining the degree of severity of congenital clubfoot by evaluating the aggregate of the most significant values obtained using objective research methods.
