FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of extracting lithium resources. Method of lithium adsorption in a carbonate-containing and/or sulphate-containing solution involves adsorption of lithium ions in a carbonate-containing and/or sulphate-containing solution using an aluminium-based lithium sorbent. Then, the saturated sorbent is converted with a weakly acidic salt solution of high concentration and the efficiency of adsorption of the sorbent is restored by using a salt solution of low concentration or water for desorption and transition to the next cycle of operation. PH range of the low-acid salt solution of high concentration is from 3 to 7, and the concentration of the low-acid salt solution of high concentration is greater than or equal to 150 g/l. Concentration of salt solution of low concentration is below 20 g/l. A weakly acidic salt solution of high concentration is obtained by dissolving one or more salts of zinc chloride, copper chloride, zirconium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, aluminium chloride, magnesium ammonium sulphate, zinc sulphate, sodium sulphate, potassium sulphate, magnesium sulphate, copper sulphate, magnesium nitrate, sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate, copper nitrate and zinc nitrate in water and pH adjustment with an acid.

EFFECT: invention increases efficiency of aluminium-based lithium sorbents.
