FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acceleration of charged particles, specifically to methods of measuring particle beam characteristics, and can be used in experimental study of plasma systems and injectors of charged particle accelerators. Charged particle beam current I is measured by a Rogowski coil, a collector with a round inlet hole of diameter d is placed on the beam path and the collector is moved along the axis of symmetry z, the currents recorded by the collector are measured in successive passage of points zi (i – 0, 1, 2, …, N+1) on the axis, starting from the point z0, and calculating the emittance value from the measurement data.

EFFECT: faster and easier measurements.
