FIELD: measuring; soil science.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a device for determining catalase activity of soil when measuring the rate of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide when it interacts with soil by volume of released oxygen. Device is made of a rectangular frame with a brass welded bellows installed inside as highly sensitive elements with annular membranes of a given profile and a strain gauge with a metal plate with a resistive layer, which changes resistance during deformation and, accordingly, electric signal, fixed by an electronic unit, connected by wires to a strain gauge, and displayed on a digital display mounted on the upper face of the device, power supply of the electronic unit through the wires is carried out by a direct current source, which is installed in the lower part of the device, and on the upper face there is an on/off button of the electronic unit, at that, in the middle of the right side face there is a cut-in nozzle made with the possibility of connecting the reservoir with the analysed soil and hydrogen peroxide solution.

EFFECT: device is small-sized and portable, replaces glass laboratory equipment for rapid and reliable determination of soil catalase enzyme activity in field and laboratory conditions.
