FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and can be used for making composite materials based on aluminium, reinforced with basalt fabric, by casting into a mould. Method includes processing of basalt fabric, melting of aluminium, installation of basalt fabric into mould, pouring of aluminium into mould and cooling. Basalt fabric of the following composition is used as a reinforcing component, wt.%: SiO2 – 47÷56; CaO – 5.5÷12; Al2O3 – 12÷17; MgO – 4.4÷9.0; Fe2O3+FeO – 10÷14; TiO2 – 1÷2; K2O – 0.9; P2O5 – 0.5. Treatment of basalt fabric involves successive application of layers of chrome and aluminium on the surface, with total thickness of the layer not exceeding 100 mcm.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a layered composite material based on aluminium with improved mechanical properties.
