FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for high-intensity pulsed optical radiation for treating wound infections and dermatological diseases comprises irradiator (1) with a pulsed gas-discharge lamp and power supply and control unit (2) connected to the irradiator. Pulsed gas-discharge lamp is installed in the reflector. Power supply and control unit includes a pulse transformer, an ignition pulse generator, a storage capacitor, a charging device and a control circuit. Storage capacitor, the secondary winding of the pulse transformer and the pulse gas-discharge lamp are electrically connected to each other so that they form a discharge circuit. Housing of the power supply and control unit is equipped with support (7) for the irradiator. In the support there is radiation intensity control sensor (9) of a pulsed gas-discharge lamp. Microprocessor of the control circuit is configured to calculate the number of radiation pulses required to achieve a given phototherapeutic dose and the length of the exposure session taking into account the actual emissivity of the pulsed gas-discharge lamp determined by the radiation intensity control sensor.

EFFECT: high stability and predictability of the achieved therapeutic effect, as well as broader functional capabilities and improved usability.
