SUBSTANCE: invention relates to integral/neuromorphic photonics, in particular – to optical devices for realizing a nonlinear activation function, used as elements of optical coprocessors. In the all-optical device for realizing a nonlinear activation function, made in the form of splitter 4 with a division factor qin at the input and combiner 5 with a division factor qout at the output of two-arm Mach-Zehnder modulator 1, in first arm 2 of which there is X-splitter 7, which connects the optical waveguide to ring resonator 6, splitter 4 and coupler 5 are made in the form of X- and/or Y-splitters, and design parameters are selected so that phase difference of input (ψin) and output (ψout) signals: Δψ=ψoutin=const.

EFFECT: broader operational capabilities of an all-optical device for realizing a nonlinear activation function due to use in multilayer coherent ONS.
