FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for surgical treatment of strabismus. Conjunctival incision is performed, rectus muscle is separated, sutured 4-7 mm from muscle attachment point depending on required amount of reinforcement, and scleral suture 0.5-2 mm from muscle attachment point is applied with the same needle and suture. Sutured portion of the sutured muscle is pulled anteriorly to the attachment point of the muscle, forming the muscle folds and fixing the sutures with the same suture episclerally. Before forming the muscle fold, the surface layers of the muscle are incised at 1/3 of its thickness at distance of 2 mm in the proximal direction from the point of muscle suturing.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to intensify fusion of muscular fold, to reduce probability of its stretching, to reduce complications, to increase aesthetic and functional result.
