FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. For production of spherical adsorbents and carriers based on aluminium oxide for catalysts of oil refining and petrochemical processes from powder of oxygen-containing compounds of aluminium with composition Al2O3⋅nH2O, where 0.25 < n < 2.0, pelletizing is carried out by rolling on a rotating inclined plate of a disk granulator with simultaneous moistening by means of binder spraying. Then moulded granules are treated with water vapor, dried and calcined at high temperature. Binder used is water or aqueous solutions of a monoatomic alcohol, or an acid, or an alkali, or a soluble metal compound, or polyethylene glycol in a weight ratio of raw material: binder in range of (1.2÷3.5):1. Stage of treating the granules with water vapor is carried out at temperature of 60–90 °C, drying of granules at temperature of 60–160 °C, and calcination of dried granules is carried out at temperature of 400–1100 °C.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain adsorbents and carriers based on aluminium oxide with pore volume of up to 0.85 cm3/g and specific surface area of up to 330 m2/g.
