FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing aluminium formate, comprising preparing a mixture of aluminium nitrate and formic acid, heating mixture to temperature of spontaneous start of reaction with subsequent removal of formic acid residues and drying, according to the invention, a solution of a mixture of anhydrous aluminium nitrate and concentrated 99.7% formic acid is prepared in the following ratio, mol: Al(NO3)3:99,7% HCOOH = 1:9÷15, mixture is heated to temperature of 30-90 °C, then the obtained product is held at temperature of 80-90 °C for 0.5-2.0 hours and dried in a desiccator over a desiccant CaCl2.
EFFECT: present invention provides a simple method of producing aluminium formate, which does not contain impurities, which provides high output of the end product and is promising for large-scale production.
