FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of copper salts using organic acids, particularly to production of bivalent copper formates, which can be used for synthesis of cuprates of alkali-earth metals and high-temperature superconductors, obtaining copper powders for 3D printing. Method of producing copper (II) formate includes mixing copper nitrate and formic acid with subsequent holding and cooling, wherein initial reagents are taken in ratio Cu(NO3)2⋅3H2O : (HCOOH) = 1÷2.5–1÷3.0 with concentration of formic acid in range of 20–99.7 % and mixing is carried out at room temperature with holding at this temperature for 10–15 minutes or with subsequent addition of water in amount of 10–12 wt% of total weight and heating to 80 °C with holding at this temperature for 15–20 minutes and cooling again to room temperature, or at temperature of 50 °C with further evaporation for 90–95 minutes and cooling to room temperature, or with subsequent cooling to temperature of 5–8 °C with holding at this temperature for 120–130 minutes.
EFFECT: inventions provide an apparatus and process simple method of producing copper (II) formate, which enables to obtain certain modifications of the end product, specifically: a monoclinic α-modification of anhydrous copper formate, an orthorhombic β-modification of anhydrous copper formate, a monoclinic modification of copper two-water formate and a monoclinic modification of copper four-water formate.
