SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a novel process for single-step large-scale production of various nanofluids in a modified version of laser ablation in an open atmosphere. Method of producing a nanofluid involves laser ablation of a target on the surface of which a liquid flows. Fluid continuously flows over target surface at preset rate to maintain preset thickness of said fluid. Method is carried out in an open atmosphere using a target selected from platinum group metals, copper, aluminium or their oxides, nitrides or carbides. Fluid is heated to preset temperature to optimize viscosity for uniform flow. Also disclosed is a nanofluid for improving thermal properties and heat transfer characteristics of fluids, made in accordance with the method, and a laser ablation system for producing nanofluids.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a single-step large-scale production of nanoparticles from metal, oxide, carbide and nitride targets, which can be made in the form of nanofluids, in various liquids, such as oils, H2O, ethylene glycol (EG), and these nanofluids have high thermal conductivity.
