FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, resuscitation, neurology and laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for laboratory diagnostics of sarcopenia in children with limited mobility. Levels of pyruvic acid and 3-hydroxybutyric acid in urine are assessed. If the level of pyruvic acid is below 30.52 mmol/mol creatinine, and 3-hydroxybutyric acid is below 3.017 mmol/mol creatinine, sarcopenia is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy of non-invasive diagnosis of sarcopenia in patients with limited mobility, as well as in patients with impaired productive cognitive contact by determining urine levels of 3-hydroxybutyric acid and pyruvic acid in paediatric patients.
