FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a method for detoxification of material contaminated with trichothecene. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for biotransformation of trichothecene by bringing material contaminated with trichothecenes into contact with exogenous glutathione-S-transferase (GST) of non-animal origin, having substrate specificity to the epoxy ring of trichothecene. Present invention also relates to recombinant GST and transgenic plants and animals expressing said GST.
EFFECT: invention enables high-efficiency biotransformation of trichothecene.
