FIELD: biotechnology; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and biochemistry, in particular to a recombinant host cell for the production of crocetin dialdehyde, crocetin and hydroxyl-β-cyclocitral. According to the invention, said host cell comprises exogenous nucleic acids encoding zeaxanthin cleavage dioxygenase, β-carotene hydroxylase, geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase, phytoin synthase, phytoin dehydrogenase and β-carotene synthase.
EFFECT: present invention allows producing crocetin dialdehyde, crocetin and hydroxyl-β-cyclocytral using recombinant host cell.
