SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a method for integrating a nucleic acid sequence of interest in a FAD2 cell gene comprising site-specific cleavage of the FAD2 gene of a plant cell using a zinc finger nuclease. Site-specific zinc finger nuclease is also disclosed for use in modifying the FAD2 gene.
EFFECT: invention effectively integrates a nucleic acid sequence of interest into a plant cell.
