SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to resuscitation, therapy and surgery, and can be used for prediction of lethal outcome in acute pancreatitis. Total nitrogen balance is measured between nitrogen introduced enterally and excreted with urine for the first five days of the initial period of the disease. And if the balance value is < -88.7 g of nitrogen, a high risk of death is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables well-timed change of patient-oriented treatment and reduces risk of fatal outcome by increasing accuracy of prediction due to evaluation of aggregate of the most significant parameters.
