SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology, anaesthesiology, resuscitation and surgery, and can be used for prediction of severe acute pancreatitis. On 3-5th day from the moment of the disease, urea is determined in a daily portion of urine, mmol/day. Calculation of nitrogen excreted per day with urine is carried out by formula: nitrogen excretion with urine = urea excretion × 0.028 (80%) + 20% loss of nitrogen with urine with other compounds. If urine nitrogen excretion is more than 18.34 g/day, a high risk of developing severe acute pancreatitis is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of increasing the accuracy and speed of predicting the severe form of acute pancreatitis and providing the possibility of the timely effect on the treatment process by determining urea in a daily portion of urine with subsequent calculation of nitrogen excreted per day with urine.
