FIELD: anesthesiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to anesthesiology, resuscitation and therapy, and can be used to predict the risk of death in therapeutic patients of the intensive care unit. The concentration of the marker in the venous blood serum is determined on the first day of admission. Transthyretin is used as a marker. If its concentration in the serum of venous blood on the first day of admission is less than 11.38 mg / dL, a high risk of death is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to diagnose a high risk of an unfavorable outcome of the disease of therapeutic patients of the intensive care unit in the first 24 hours by determining the concentration of the marker - transthyretin in the serum of venous blood on the first day of the patient's admission.
