FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, namely to gas chromatography, and can be used for identification and determination of polar and medium-polar substances in multicomponent mixtures of natural and technogenic origin in chemical and oil industries and ecology. Method for determining polar volatile components in aqueous media, in which the analysed sample is separated from oil, is purified from mechanical impurities by filtration through a paper filter, volatile components are extracted from the filtrate in a thermostatically controlled vessel at a temperature below the boiling point of water by bubbling an inert gas, the flow of which, saturated with volatile components, is bubbled through a small volume of distilled water, into which a fixed amount of an internal standard is added before analysis. A salting-out agent is added to the filtrate in a temperature-controlled vessel, and a cartridge with hydrophobisated silica gel is placed on the path of the flow of the inert gas saturated with volatile components.
EFFECT: reduced random errors in measuring concentration of volatile components in a sample and increased sensitivity of gas chromatographic determination of polar volatile components.
