FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: fixator of the apparatus for external fixation of bone fragments of extremities and/or pelvis includes two clamping assemblies, an axial screw and a spring element placed on an axial screw. Each of the clamping assemblies contains a pair of clamping jaws – internal and external ones, made with grooves forming a lodgement for arrangement of a rod element at conjugation of clamping jaws. Axial screw on one end is equipped with a thread with a clamping nut on it, and on the opposite end – with a locking element. Spring element is located between clamping units. Each clamping unit contains four lodgments for arrangement and fixation of rod elements. Each of the clamping jaws of the clamping assemblies contains four rounded recesses in the cross section, which form the said lodgments when the external and internal clamping jaws of one clamping unit are coupled. Recesses in each clamping jaw are arranged in pairs with parallel arrangement of their longitudinal axes. Recesses of one pair are located perpendicular to recesses of the second pair of clamping jaw. One pair of lodgments has radii R1 and R2, which are larger than radii of lodgments of the second pair R3 and R4.

EFFECT: inventions provide reliable fixation of rod elements of up to 8 standard sizes, differing by diameter of rod elements, in various combinations with simplified technology of clamping with realization of parallelism of plane of conjugation of clamping jaws, clamping units and axes formed in given clamping units of lodgments, as well as parallelism of axes of lodgments in each pair in clamping unit.
