FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to gastroenterology, and can be used to determine the probability of developing new cases of steroid dependence in 12 months in patients with mild and moderate attack of ulcerative colitis (UC). Primary consultation involves evaluating the presence or absence of extraintestinal manifestations, the presence or absence of spontaneous mucosal vulnerability when performing video colonoscopy, and the therapy of UC is started. 3 months after the beginning of the therapy, the presence or absence of stool normalization is assessed, where stool frequency corresponds to 0 points on the Mayo subscale, the presence or absence of visible blood in the stool. After 6 months of therapy, the presence or absence of an increase in the severity of the attack as compared to the initial one, the presence or absence of a moderate attack corresponding to 6 to 9 points by Mayo index is assessed. Further, using the obtained data, the probability (P) of developing steroid dependence in patients after 12 months of UC therapy is determined by a given formula. If P is 0.2 and more, a high risk of developing steroid dependence is predicted after 12 months of therapy, and if P is less than 0.2, a low risk of developing steroid dependence is predicted after 12 months of therapy.
EFFECT: method enables improving the quality of life of the patients with UC by timely correction of therapy and management of the patient by assessing the set of the most significant parameters.
