FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for deoxidizing refining of molten steel using vacuum refining equipment. Method includes addition of Al-containing substance to molten steel inside vacuum tank and deoxidizing refining of molten steel, at that, temperature changes, ΔT1 and ΔT2, of molten steel during deoxidation by element Al satisfy the formula ΔT1 + ΔT2 < 0, where ΔT1, °C, is the value of the temperature rise associated with the release of the oxidation reaction heat of the Al element, and ΔT2, °C is the value of temperature drop caused by heat content of the added Al-containing substance.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to carry out vacuum refining in a short period of time and to increase output of Al added during deoxidation of molten steel.
