FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, namely to devices for measuring density and level of liquid in tanks, and can be used in systems for measuring and commercial metering of the amount of liquid (mass, volume) stored in tanks, in chemical, oil and other industries. To determine density and level of liquid in the reservoir, differential pressure sensor is used to measure difference of hydrostatic pressure in two points of controlled volume. For this, the bubbling tube is filled with gas from the inner space of the tank located above the surface of the liquid or with air taken from the atmosphere until the liquid is completely displaced therefrom, wherein pressure of gas filling the bubbling tube is equal to hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column, the level of which is simultaneously measured by a magnetostrictive level sensor, the magnetic float of which is placed on the bubbling tube. Density of the monitored liquid is calculated from the measured values of the output signals of the differential pressure sensor and the level sensor.
EFFECT: possibility of continuous measurement of level and density of liquid in tanks at implementation of combination of magnetostrictive principle of measurement of liquid level and bubbling principle of measurement of hydrostatic pressure in a single design of the device, which contributes to increase of accuracy and reliability of measurements.
