FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to Cryptosporidium gp40 protein for immunization against cryptosporidiosis. Said gp40 protein contains one or more alkylated amino acids, wherein this Cryptosporidium gp40 protein is obtained by incubation of a composition containing Cryptosporidium gp40 protein with binary ethyleneimine. Invention also relates to use of said protein in a vaccine for protection against cryptosporidiosis, as well as to a vaccine against cryptosporidiosis and a method for preparing such a vaccine.
EFFECT: present invention provides high immunogenicity of gp40, which leads to a higher titre of gp40-specific antibodies in the vaccinated target mammal.
