SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a polyvalent immunogenic composition against dirofilariasis, containing two or more antigens from Dirofilaria immitis, where antigens are selected from a multicopy larval transcript, heat shock protein (HSP) 12.6, tetraspanin and thioredoxin peroxidase 2. Disclosed are a recombinant vector for delivering a nucleic acid molecule into a host cell and a recombinant host cell for producing protein. Disclosed is a method of inducing a protective immune response in a subject, involving administering a polyvalent immunogenic composition, and a method of immunizing an animal against dirofilariasis.
EFFECT: combinations of antigens, such as multicopy larval transcript (ALT2), tetraspanin (TSP), small heat shock protein (HSP) 12.6 and thioredoxin peroxidase 2 (TPX-2), provide >80% protection against infection with filarial nematodes, such as, for example, Dirofilaria immitis.
