FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to purification of water from water-soluble compounds of heavy metals and can be used in technology of purification from water-soluble compounds of heavy metals of natural water of household and drinking water supply, treatment of domestic waste water and industrial effluents. To purify water from water-soluble compounds of heavy metals, the reagent is introduced in the form of a two-layer charge, wherein the upper layer contains the following, wt.%: magnesium oxide 90-97, mica-montmorillonite clay 3-10, water – balance; and second lower layer contains, wt.%: magnesium carbonate 10-15, mica-montmorillonite clay 85-90, water – the rest. Thickness of upper layer of loading is (0.3-0.5)*t, where t is thickness of lower layer.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of water purification from heavy metals while maintaining the hydrogen index value within the standard range of pH=6.8-7.5.
