FIELD: metal cutting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal cutting, mainly to cutters, including those with large depth of boring, and can be used for roughing and finishing turning of parts. Cutter with vibration damping consists of a hollow central cylindrical body and two end faces adjacent to it along the axis. One end part is made in the form of a head with a replaceable cutting plate, the opposite end part is made in the form of a shank. Along the cutter axis inside the hollow central cylindrical part between both end parts there is a bolt tightening them. Hollow part of the central tube is filled with lead shot limited on the side of the head of the cutting plate with a net installed on the boundary of the hollow central cylindrical body. Size of mesh cells is less than size of lead shot. For supply of coolant in the shank wall there is a channel with a hole inside the cavity for coolant supply. A rotary nozzle is made in the head to supply coolant to the cutting plate.
EFFECT: creation of a cutter with high efficiency of vibration damping, with high strength and rigidity, resistant to dynamic effects, little deforming during operation, with simple design, effective damping of self-oscillations and forced oscillations.
