SUBSTANCE: invention relates to training simulators for engine preparation for start-up at low temperatures due to application of its pre-start heating. Simulator has the possibility of correcting the actions of the trainee and accompanying them with audiovisual effects. Method of training armoured personnel carrier engine preparation for start-up at low temperatures is carried out using a simulator. Simulator provides for simulation by trainee of start-up and deactivation of pre-heater with accompanying audiovisual effects of each action of trainee. At the same time it is impossible to perform the next stage without performing the previous one, which is indicated in the help of the simulator. Then, switching to the training mode with display is carried out, in which the sequence of action on the controls of the prestart heater, their location on the armoured personnel carrier and the duration of action on them are not accompanied by audiovisual prompts.

EFFECT: providing a high degree of quality of studying the rules for starting an engine pre-heater of an armoured personnel carrier, places of installation on an armoured personnel carrier of the controls for the pre-starting heater, the order and sequence of action on them.
