SUBSTANCE: invention relates to generation of electron radiation. Device for generation of radiation (14) of electrons contains incandescent cathode (11) in the form of wire, which is considerably more elongated in longitudinal direction than in perpendicular to it transverse direction, cathode electrode (12), and also anode. Cathode electrode (12) has a curved surface in the form of a hollow cylindrical concave curved surface (16) on the side facing glowing cathode (11). During operation of the device, voltage is applied between cathode electrode (12) and the anode to accelerate electrons leaving incandescent cathode (11). Heated cathode (11) is located at a certain distance from cathode electrode (12) so that during operation of the device, electrons escape from heated cathode (11) in each of the transverse directions and are accelerated to the anode.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the device for generating electron radiation, uniformity of radiation of electrons and low sensitivity to particle vapours.
