FIELD: generation of electronic radiation.
SUBSTANCE: device (1) for generating electron radiation (4) contains an elongated incandescent cathode in the form of a wire, from which electron radiation (4) comes, having, due to the elongated shape of the incandescent cathode, an elongated linear section vertical to its direction of propagation, the cathode electrode (2) and an anode electrode (3), between which a voltage is applied to accelerate the electrons emerging from the heated cathode; as well as a deflecting block that can deflect the transmitted electron radiation (4) through the opening of the anode electrode (3). By means of the deflecting block, during operation of the device, the cross section of the electron radiation (4) is changed so that the extension decreases in the longitudinal linear direction and increases in the transverse linear direction, in particular so that the extensions in the longitudinal linear direction and in the transverse linear direction are almost the same in magnitude.
EFFECT: reduced harmful radiation.
